I am a licensed psychotherapist, and have been practicing for 9 years now. I currently work at a private practice in Beverly Hills and also offer online sessions.
What do I use to help you make the transformation happen?
I use an integrative approach to therapy that is mainly psychodynamic and relational. By developing greater self-awareness and insight, we can experience powerful transformations and long-term change. Our conditioning and the different messages that we received mainly from our parents/caretakers in childhood, can hugely influence how we see ourselves, others, and the world. Depending on these messages, we often unconsciously cast aside certain parts of our self that felt “bad” or undesirable. We also likely developed certain defenses out of survival. But as adults, we may start to realize that these patterns are no longer serving us.
Therapy can help us develop a new and more loving relationship with ourselves, in order to feel more whole, lighter and at peace.
What does the actual process look like?
First, we’ll schedule an initial consultation to determine whether it feels like a good fit. During this consultation, we may discuss what brings you into therapy, why you’ve chosen to reach out at this time, and what you are currently experiencing. We’ll also discuss some of your goals and expectations for therapy.
From there, we’ll explore what you’ve been struggling with and why you might be experiencing certain symptoms, your thoughts and feelings, relationship patterns, unconscious patterns, process past experiences, and even delve into exploring your dreams, as they often hold the key to accessing your subconscious mind. This can all help to better understand your current situation and shift certain patterns and beliefs, in order to get unstuck and to start feeling better.
This work certainly takes time, but it can truly be one of the best investments that you ever make in yourself.
Wondering whether now is the right time for therapy?
Starting therapy can feel scary and uncomfortable, as the brain and body often resist what is unfamiliar. Change can certainly be anxiety inducing. Perhaps there is a part of you though, that is tired of feeling this way and is ready to start experiencing life differently. If you think that now is the right time to start, I’d be happy to embark on this transformational journey with you.
How I got started in therapy
My background is in the arts and psychology. I believe that both have tremendous power to impact, heal, and provoke thought, and share similarities in that they involve empathy, human connection, delving into our emotions and complex inner worlds, and accessing and sharing our truths.
Growing up, I dealt with anxiety, and often put a lot of pressure on myself to achieve. So much so that in my late teens, I developed chronic tension headaches and other symptoms, which lasted for several years. This, coupled with other life experiences, led me to embark on my own healing journey and to pursue a career in this field. I had a strong desire to better understand myself and others, and develop the tools to directly impact others. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help people make meaningful changes and to witness them experience life in a different and more satisfying way.
What I do when I'm not doing therapy
I’ll be watching a great film or play, exploring new restaurants, spending time with loved ones, cooking, reading, or taking a walk with my dog in nature!
Taking the first step
If my words resonated with you, and you’re keen to give therapy a try, I’d encourage you to reach out to set up a consultation. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with you!
